Arakulam Gramapanchayat Tourist Spots

          Arakulam is a small village located in the Idukki Block, Idukki district of Kerala state. Arakulam is 16 km from Thodupuzha which is the gateway to the Highranges. Thodupuzha-Idukki road goes through this place. Arakulam is enriched with the Kanjar River, the tail end of the Moolamattom Hydro Electric Power station and in which the Malankara Dam Situates. Teak plantation, Elappally waterfalls, Thriveni Sangamam, Hanging bridge are the scenic attractions of Moolamattom. Thumpichi St. Thomas mount, Nadukani, Malankara Dam, Kudayathur Mala, Vayanakavu Temple and Ilaveezhapoonchira are the nearby attractions. Idukki Dam, the world's second and Asia’s first arch dam, is 43 km away from Moolamattom

  • Kulamavu Dam, Vadakkepuzha

    Kulamavu dam is a part of Idukki Dam there is no intricacy to see this dam for everyone. The Thodupuzha- Idukki Road is passed through upon this dam. When we are in the top of this dam, we can see the beauty of the lake in one side and other side horrible deep dent.

  • Thumpichi Hills, Nadukani Pavallion

    Nadukani, situated at an altitude of 3000 ft, is a charming hill station in Idukki Block. It is about 70 km from Thodupuzha and is in close proximity to Kulamavu. On the sunny day Nadukani offers a clear view of the areas extending to Thodupuzha. The northern side is filled with blue hills vying to touch the sky.

  • Vagamon, Pullikkanam Hill Tops.

    The Erattupetta, Azhutha and Idukki Block Panchayaths are in Western gardgets and the Vagamon- Pullikanam Hills are in the border areas of these Blocks. This region is very much familiar to the World tourists and it was marked in the world tourist map. North India’s biggest Gliding location is in Vagamon, Payne forest is also familiar. Thangalpara is a famous pilgrim center for Muslims which is nearby Vagamon.

  • Elappally Water Falls

  • Kanjar River View, Teak Plantations

    This nature rich place is the doorway of Idukki Block Panchayath and Idukki Hydro Electric Project which is 40 Km away from Idukki. This elegant lake was formed with the spillway water from the Moolamattom Power House which was stored in Thodupuzha- Malankara Dam. The mountain guard is surrounded with the lake and in that the famous tourist place “Elaveezhapoonjira” is kissed to the cloud.

  • Triveni Sangamam, Hanging Bridge

    A landlocked region in Moolamatton- here high ranges and wooded valleys are girded by three main rivers – the first river Peryar flowes throuth the Idukki Hydro Electric Project’s and that spillway water named as Periyar, the second one is Thalayar beginning from Vagamon, Pullikanam hills and another one is Thodupuzhayar. The Teak plantation is a memorable one for every one in Moolamattom. Idukki hydro electric project have 780 megawatt capacity.
