Kalyanathandu with its vast watery expanses and the distant blue hills kissing the skies is surely a paradise on earth. Just climb down the hill and there is the forest, rich in a variety of flora and fauna. From a top Kalyanathandu, the view across the land is breath taking. If one is fortunate enough, he might see elephants crossing the river.
A perfect location for trekking as the trek through the lovely, dark and deep woods is quite an experience. There still lie the remnants of arches and huts built by the forest department. A native said all those were destroyed after clashes between officials. Earlier many tourists used to come here. Devotees use to come during good Friday due to the presence of wooden cross near the hill and so the place is also known as Calvary Mount.
